Fenna looked at the laceration the indigenous life form had left behind on the skin of Marcus. From a distansce it didn't look that bad in her opinion but she had the experience from the field that even the smallest of wounds could turn very ugly in situations like this if they were not tended properly. With some difficulties due to sore muscles in her legs and thighs, she got up. "Let me have a look at that..." she said, sitting down next to Marcus. She picked up his feelings and all she could feel right now was an awkward feeling of unease which made her feel similarly uneasy but she tried hard to hide it from him.
"That's nothing..." Marcus chuckled trying to take away Fenna's attention from treating the wound on his torso. "I'll be the judge of that, Captain..." Fenna said, looking in his eyes sternly. "I have had seven years of medical training and I think I know what I am doing..." She said. Unfortunately his uniform shirt was in the way to allow her to inspect the wound. Normally that wouldn't be a problem as she would have taken out her medical tricorder but she didn't carry it with her in her utility belt and she was unwilling to walk all the way to her tent to fetch it. "Take off your shirt..." She said, somewhat surprised that she actually dared to ask that from him. It made her feel rather excited if she had to be honest. Suddenly Fenna felt that Doug's feelings of unease spiked just after she said that.
"What are you afraid of?" Fenna said provocatively. "It's not that I have never seen a torso..." She smiled at thim. Doug gave her a reluctant look but finally he agreed to comply. He took off his shirt, showing this bulky but densly trained torso. In instant Fenna could feel a rush surging through her body and she had tremendous difficulties trying to push that feeling away, then she started to wonder if she wanted to push that particular feeling away in the first place. Of course she could name at least 5 reasons why it was a bad idea to act on her impulses, but on the other hand...
Fenna got closer, placing her finger tips on his broad shoulder, rubbing and inspecting the skin around the laceration carefully. At first she started rather subtle and somewhat insecure but as the seconds passed and as their skins started to get familiar with the touch, the contact between them became that of another level. For a couple of seconds or so, it seemed that the two had lost each other in the moment but suddenly they focussed their minds back on the here and now. "So... Doctor, what is your diagnosis... Am I going to die?" Doug asked, turned around to face Fenna who was seated behind him.
"Hardly,...." She said, her eyes firmly fixed on his. "In fact... I think that you are very much alive..."
